BJIT was recognized for having an impressive number of female employees among BASIS member organizations.
Bangladesh Japan Information Technology (BJIT) wins the 'BASIS Luna Shamsuddoha Award' a special recognition for the biggest female employer. This was an inspiring initiative taken by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) to celebrate the participation of women at work and recognition of womanhood in our society. The idea was inspired by BASIS in honor of Ms. Luna Shamsuddoha, a pioneering entrepreneur of Bangladesh who has made a great contribution to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry.
BJIT was awarded for the largest women employment in the software company category and the award was received by Mrs. Hosna Ara Jasmine, Vice President and Head of Finance, BJIT Limited. Along with her, Mr. Mehedi Masud, COO of BJIT Limited also represented on behalf of BJIT Management. Among the members of the board of BASIS companies, Genex Infosys was awarded for highest women employment in the BPO company category, and social enterprise Dnet for highest women employment by male-female ratio category.
The award ceremony was graced by Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Honorable Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament attending as the Chief Guest. Dr. Dipu Moni, MP, Honorable Minister of Education, Government of Bangladesh; Mr. Salman F Rahman, MP, Private Industry, and Investment Adviser to Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh; and Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Honorable State Minister for ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh were the special guests.
BJIT currently has over 750+ engineers and administrative employees working at BJIT and a considerable amount of them are female. Not only that but most of the important designations are also held by females. Our Vice President head of Finance Mrs.Hosna Ara Jasmine is an inspiring example to reflect on the broader perspective followed at BJIT.
While there are always increasing opportunities created through digitalization, it is also important to absorb all the required knowledge and expertise to conduct those effectively. Digital skill and the right mindset of learning with adaptability is very crucial. Women should be encouraged and supported with proper accessibility towards digital skill development and should be ensured to contribute to IT development. This not only helps in breaking the stereotypes and bringing in broader perceptions and an overall equity mechanism is also impacted with a reflective direction. This creates a balanced workforce and employee sustainability and has an effective contribution towards the reputation and brand valuation of a company.
With a glorious journey of 20 years, BJIT has performed impressively as a global software development and IT consultancy company. Since our beginning we have been dedicated to serving the best quality services and maintaining global standards while enhancing local resources. BJIT has been a great contributor to the development of the IT industry in Bangladesh.
